The MRC of Coaticook’s population is in light growth, going from 15,008 people in 1971 to 18 465 according to the latest census in 2006. It is the second least populated MRC in the Townships, comprising about 6% of the regional population.
The MRC is considered as rural, because its urbanisation rate finds itself at 41.8% with an average of only 14 people per km2!
The regional unemployment rate is among the lowest in Québec, estimated between 4% and 5% in 2001. The average family revenue was approximated at $43,162 a year in the last census. |
