The tourism sector is in full swing and is becoming an increasingly large player in the region’s economy. Breath-taking scenery and awe inspiring panoramas continually attract more and more visitors. Approximately sixty businesses cater to some 116,000 people annually. About half of which come from a distance of more than 80 kilometres.
Culture, nature and agriculture are the main focuses of the local tourist industry. Visitors can count on a warm and friendly welcome, a typical charactaristic of the region. Excellent lodgings and rural scenery make for a very pleasant and enjoyable day in the MRC. Main attractions include the Coaticook Gorge Park, the Louis-S.-St-Laurent national historical site and the corn maze at the CIARC farm. As for events, theMilk Festivaland the Rendez-vous Quad Québec-USA attract thousands of visitors annually. |
