Youth strategic placement

This project offers high school graduates and young people pursuing post secondary education the opportunity to experience a genuine selection process and gain work experience in the area in which they hope to have a career. This work experience is reflected in a summer training session in an organization of the MRC of Coaticook for a period of up to twelve weeks at 35 hours per week depending on the level of training of the young people selected. Participants receive a predetermined salary of $10.00 per hour for the duration of the training course.

Objectives :

  • To counter the exodus of young people to urban centers.

  • To create a significant link between youth and employers in the region.

Eligibility :

  • Living in the territory of the MRC of Coaticook

  • Be admitted to a vocation training program (DEP, DEC, BACC) recognized by the MELS (Provide proof of the admission to the program)

OR

  • Be currently pursuing post-secondary education (provide report card)

This innovative project of the SADC is made possible through the contribution of the Carrefour Jeunesse-Emploi de la MRC de Coaticook, job creation funds, the MRC of Coaticook and the CLD de la MRC de Coaticook.
